LANSING – State Representative Fred Durhal, Jr. (D-Detroit) today reminded residents that the Detroit Department of Public Works has changed the hours of operation for its four drop-off locations.
Drop-off locations are currently open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. These hours will be in effect through October.
The department will change the locations' hours again for the winter months. Starting in November, the drop-off locations will be open Tuesday through Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. until March.
Residents can discard bulk items, yard waste and recyclable materials at the following locations:
- Davison Yard – 8221 W. Davison Ave.
- Southfield Yard – 12255 Southfield Service Drive
- State Fair Yard – 19715 John R Road
- 5840 Anthon St. (between Cavalry and Campbell Streets)
Drop-off locations are open only to Detroit residents with proper identification and proof of residency. For more information, visit the Public Works' Web site.
